OUR MISSION

Protecting the Next Generation in a Digital World

Parental Awareness: Behind the Screen exists to equip parents, churches, schools, and communities with the knowledge, tools, and faith-based guidance needed to protect children in an increasingly complex digital landscape.

Technology is not slowing down.
Access is not decreasing.
And the risks facing our children are not hypothetical.

Our mission is simple:
Awareness. Education. Action. Unity.

THE CRISIS WE’RE IN

Children ages 8–12 spend an average of 4–6 hours online daily

1 in 5 children receives an unwanted sexual solicitation online

Online gaming platforms and social apps are now among the top recruitment tools for:

  • Sexual predators

  • Human traffickers

    • Extremist/terrorist organizations
(FBI has publicly warned of this trend)

Many parents believe “it won’t happen to my child,”
but predators target access, not vulnerability

Only 15–20% of groomed children report the experience to parents or authorities, meaning most incidents go unreported.

THE HEART BEHIND THIS MOVEMENT

Children today are growing up immersed in online spaces that most parents did not experience at their age. Social media, gaming platforms, messaging apps, and streaming content are shaping identity, relationships, and exposure at an unprecedented level.

With that access comes risk:

  • Online exploitation

  • Grooming and trafficking recruitment

  • Cyberbullying

  • Exposure to explicit content

  • Extremist influence

  • Mental health impact

Many families feel overwhelmed. Many churches feel unsure how to address it. Many communities are reacting instead of preparing.

We believe parents deserve clarity.
We believe churches must lead conversations.
We believe communities are stronger when united.

Only a small fraction of grooming incidents are ever shared with parents or reported, making awareness and proactive conversation crucial.
